If you know what Hashem means, you probably agree with the shirt. Jews have used Hashem —"The Name"—as a reverent way of referring to God for centuries. Once you get past the linguistic differences, "God is King" is something Jews, Christians, Muslims, Sikhs, Druze, Baháʼís, and many others can all affirm. Religion should challenge us to become better people. When a declaration of faith is wielded as a weapon to disparage others, something has gone badly wrong. This design is unmistakably Jewish, a little tongue-in-cheek, and perhaps more ecumenical than it appears at first glance.
