The Maccabee Special Forces design imagines the ancient Jewish insurgents of Judea through the visual language of the U.S. Army Special Forces: disciplined, unconventional, and impossible to intimidate.
The Maccabees recruited, trained, and led a homegrown resistance against a numerically superior empire determined to crush their faith and identity. Centuries before “asymmetric warfare” had a name, they fought like guerrillas, struck like commandos, and liberated the Judean homeland from brutal occupation.
The crest of the fictional 1st Maccabee Regiment is modeled after the Special Forces emblem, with a few Jewish upgrades: spears in place of arrows, a hammer in place of the fighting knife, and an Ancient Hebrew motto inspired by the morning blessing Matir Asurim — the One who releases the bound.
