“You shall not stand idly by while your neighbor’s blood is shed.” — Vayikra / Leviticus 19:16
In the language of the Bible, a goel — a redeemer — is someone charged with restoring rights, defending kin, and avenging blood unjustly spilled. That is already pretty hardcore. Naturally, it got us wondering: what if the great heroes of Jewish tradition were imagined as a team of Biblical superheroes?
The Redeemers reimagines figures from Tanakh and Jewish tradition through a comic-book lens: prophets, warriors, priests, kings, judges, and righteous troublemakers, all drawn from a tradition that was never short on courage.
It is part Jewish history, part superhero homage, and part reminder that our stories had giants, tyrants, miracles, battles, and impossible odds long before anyone wore a cape.
